Should have known

Sometimes you don’t know where to go
Write a letter or listen to some music
As long as the tune is staying low
And you can keep your mind to the lyrics
Most things are namely boring

Hey, why don’t you tell me a good joke
I just might not have heard it before
And if I did, it’d be hard to revoke
You know remembering things makes my head feel sore

I’ve got a lot of memories though
But I usually have good laughs about them
Hard work or no work
There’s no difference to show

You should know that by now
You should know that by now

Noisy neighbors with a lack of education
I declared war on them
It didn’t bring no salvation

Now I put on another jacket
And there she is, ardent like the sun
And just like me
Looking for fun

Should have known that by now
Should have known that by now
